I believe that Arab unity is necessary for true peace with Israel. "The thorn that pricks the cat is not felt by the camel."

I am relieved that finally a Democratic Party-affiliated organization is finally ready to take a stand for a just peace in Israel/Palestine.
I believe the Mission Statement should not mention the "two state solution." There are serious difficulties in the way of implementing this due to the settler incursions in the West Bank that have been supported by the government of Israel. It is a matter for the parties to the conflict to decide in the course of negotiations and should not be prejudged or pre-conditioned.

My group of activists in Cleveland are chartering buses to bring people from the Greater Cleveland Ohio area, to the June 10th rally and march in Washington DC. If any Olive Tree or PDA people from North East Ohio would like to ride on our bus, we still have a few seats left. Please contact AACCESS-Ohio at 216-252-2900 to reserve your bus seat now! We are asking only $20 for a round trip bus seat which will include snack food and refreshments, as most of the cost of the bus charter was underwritten by our friends in the Arab American community. All are welcome as we have a second bus standing by. Call Now!

I would like to join with you but don't agree with your position that only a two state solution is viable. That is what the Israelis want but it is not viable. Israel is now claiming that amost all of Palistine is theirs, where are you going to put the Arabs?

i would like to find out more about the June 10th rally so that I can attend. Could you please give me information about any organized meeting or if we should just show up? I think it's great to have peope working toward peace and ultimately providing strength to our relations with the Middle East.

Please explain the following apparent discrepancy between the existing Mission Statement (whose acceptance is presented as the requirement for joining) and the Draft Proposal:

Mission Statement
"OTD believes that any just solution will require the establishment of two states as a precondition for achieving a lasting peace"

Draft Proposal
"A mission statement has not been written [?!], but it will NOT emphasize the specifics of a preferred final status arrangement to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."

Thanks.
