May 2: First OTD Conference Call

Our first conference call is scheduled for May 2, at 6:00 pm EST. It is open only to members. Join Olive Tree Democrats here. Here is the agenda:

  • 6:00             Call begins
  • 6:05 – 6:10   Dan Fleshler from Americans for Peace Now will present on ‘how Democrats deal with I/P issues.’
  • 6:10 – 6:15   Representative from an Arab American group will discuss their legislative agenda on I/P. Note: this is a surprise guest; we will reveal his/her name on the call.
  • 6:15 – 6:20   Anne Rettenberg from Olive Tree Democrats will give us an update on the plans for the June 10-11 protest in Washington DC.
  • 6:20 – 6:30   Q&A directed at the previous speakers.
  • 6:30 – 6:40   Call participants introduce themselves as follows: name, location, and best thing about OTD so far. (Shameless ploy to generate optimism, we know….)
  • 6:40 – 7:00   OTD Director Charles Lenchner introduces the (very brief) history of OTD, presents the likely directions (based on agenda items and action proposals generated online, before the call) for OTD. Q&A about OTD. (if you have questions you’d like answered before the call – email charles@olivetreedems.org.

As of April 18th, this website is brand new and still under construction. Most visitors are members of the Israel-Palestine Working Group of Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) sent here to look at our draft proposal and comment about our future work together.
